Chris Vander Velde believes art is a means of savoring memorable moments in time.  Whether it's an incredible sunrise, a majestic bird, a perfect flower or an imagined abstract, she is inspired by the true beauty of real life.  This is especially true when it comes to the incredible natural beauty of Wisconsin's Door Peninsula.  Her abstract dimensional alcohol inks interpret the sights, sounds and experiences of her surroundings.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Chris is currently exploring and experimenting with alcohol inks.  Because of its vibrancy, fluidity and unpredictability, creating with alcohol inks has become her medium of choice.
