Gail Katz-James is a Minneapolis public artist who transforms steel, enamel, wire and recycled objects into playful,vividly colored sculptures that provoke curiosity and include interactive elements for kids and families. Currently she's making Flock of Houses, a commissioned enamel and steel sculpture for the City of St. Paul, with artist Christopher Aaron Deanes. Major works include An Owl's Perspective, 2019, Flour Sack Rack, 2018 Playful Prisms, 2015, and Found Treasures, 2012. Awards include: Artist Initiative Grant, 2016 and the Next Step Grant, 2013. Gail has taught in art centers, schools libraries, farmers markets and senior housing.
