Grace Hogan is a Wisconsin artist working in metal and found object jewelry. Her designs are one-of-a-kind combinations of elements and ideas of nature. Earth's natural phenomena, usually unnoticed yet normal, are the tiny objects found when we move our gaze downward. Grace's fascination with the ground and the things people stomp over everday has extended into her work. She creates a new purpose for the found objects in order to transform our attitude toward them into something precious and artful.
Lake Superior and its shores has become her inspiration, where she incorporates her surroundings into her jewelry. Grace observes that the geological formation/deformation of the land and lake can be the tiniest stone she discovers among a million grains of sand or the push of the water along the shoreline.
