With a Bachelor's in Fine Arts, Lynn Dinning's career is a series of artistic transitions: from the theater to designing and producing wearable precious metal objects and fiber garments and finally to glass blowing. Lynn shares that when she blew her first glass bubble, she knew this was what she wanted to do.
Lynn settled in northern Michigan on a hillside in the woodlands. Reflecting her lifestyle, her work shows an unadorned simplicity of design giving strength and precision to each piece. By layering clear glass between layers of color, the light penetrates the glass, creating shadows and great depth in the patterns. Many of her designs are influenced by the wonderful light and natural surroundings of the north. She enjoys making a wide range of blown and fused glass items. Her work has appeared in juried shows, selected group and solo exhibitions and collections (including the White House) throughout the United States and abroad.
